CeliacTrack

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-12 · Effective date: at app launch

These Terms govern your use of CeliacTrack ("the app"), a mobile application operated by Thomas Mazalek ("we," "our"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. The app, in one paragraph

CeliacTrack helps Canadians with diagnosed celiac disease record gluten-free grocery purchases and generate a CRA Medical Expense Tax Credit summary. The credit estimates the app produces are based on the inputs you provide and CRA's published rules. They are not tax advice and we are not a registered tax preparer. Always confirm with a qualified tax professional before filing your return.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or older and a Canadian resident for tax purposes to sign up. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. You must give us accurate information when prompted.

3. Your data, your responsibility

You're responsible for the accuracy of the receipts, comparables, income, and other information you enter. If you misrepresent income or fabricate evidence to inflate your claim and CRA audits you, that's solely your responsibility — not ours.

4. The Claim subscription

The paid "Claim" tier unlocks AI lookups, PDF export, the claim-window optimiser, and the duplicate resolver. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store or Google Play and renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time through your platform's subscription settings; access continues until the end of your current billing period. Refund requests go through Apple or Google directly — we don't process them.

If billing fails the subscription downgrades to the free Tracker tier; your data is preserved.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. AI features and accuracy

The app uses AI (Claude) to identify products from receipts and suggest comparable non-gluten-free products with retail prices. AI results are best-effort estimates — prices and product details can be wrong or outdated. Always verify suggested prices against a real shelf-tag, flyer, or retailer page before claiming them on your taxes.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, code, and content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright. You're granted a limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Your data is yours — we don't claim ownership of your receipts, comparables, or generated reports.

8. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the app is error-free, will be uninterrupted, or that the calculations will be accepted by the CRA. The credit estimates are not tax advice. We disclaim liability for any tax outcome based on use of the app.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the app is limited to the amount you've paid us in the prior 12 months.

9. Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms or for any reason on 30 days' notice.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice at next sign-in. Continued use after notice means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
